Global context

Why REACT?

Rural areas in Spain, Senegal and Kenya face common challenges: digital exclusion, lack of green economic opportunities and a shortage of local trainers. REACT addresses all three.

3 pillars, 1 vision

  1. The challenge

    Digital exclusion

    In villages, access to digital tools and training is still rare, especially for women and young people.

    Digital Skills — DigComp

    Competency framework covering 5 areas: information, communication, content creation, security and problem solving.

  2. The challenge

    Few green opportunities

    Rural economies rely on fragile value chains: sustainable outlets and local markets still need to be built.

    Green Entrepreneurship

    Business plans, local markets, sustainable agricultural value chains, eco-business, green finance.

    Shortage of local trainers

    Without trainers on the ground, skills are not passed on and programmes stop when the funding ends.

    Training of Trainers (ToT)

    Building a local training relay: 20 ToT trainers, 5 per partner organisation, able to continue the programme independently.

Each phase builds on the previous one: the trainers trained become the programme's relays in their territories.

    Phase 1

    Preparation & Diagnosis

    Needs assessment, partner mapping, ToT curriculum design.

  2. 2Jun – Dec 2025

    Phase 2

    Training of Trainers

    20 local trainers trained in 3 countries, 5 per partner organisation.

  3. 32025 – 2026

    Phase 3

    Beneficiary Training

    75 young people and rural women trained over 6 months.

  4. 42026

    Phase 4

    Evaluation & Dissemination

    Impact analysis, publications, European conference.
